From Dumps to Sunsets

The last few days have either been extremely windy or cold and dreary.  We are suppose to get rain tomorrow and for the next 8 days.  We were able to get rid of some branches and stumps today.  We loaded up the truck and headed for the dump.

Bill was such a dear he didn't ask me to help him unload the truck.  The dump recycles all the wood into mulch. You can see those angry clouds coming in.

I am a fan of Fannie Flagg I have read everyone of her books.  They have made me laugh out load and they have made me cry.  She is a wonderful storyteller and has a way of bringing her characters to life.
I am starting her lastest book tonight "I Still Dream About You: A Novel"

Every night we get the most stunning sunsets I have ever seen in my life.  I sure wasn't disappointed the other night.  Just as the sun is going down I run out on the deck too see what's in store for me.  Wishing you all beautiful sunsets.

Until Next Time,
Pam

Mail Call

I love when I go to the Post Office to pick up my mail and there are no bills in my box but a set of keys.  Keys to open the bigger box since the package will not fit in my small box.  The closest Barnes and Nobel is over 50 miles and the small bookstore in town doesn't not carry books I'm interested in.  I order online for most of my books and come to think of it I do most my shopping online.  So what came in the mail today?

Summer with Matthew Mead.  What a beautiful book filled with lovely photos, recipes and inspiration.  I  see I am going to wear this book out.  It already has me thinking about decorating and entertaining.  Alas, there was no "Golden Ticket" inside but the book itself is Golden.

My 2nd book is Totally Tangled by Sandy Steen Bartholomew who brings doodling to a whole new level.  I already have one of these books and my daughter has not put it down.  She has been doodling all over the place.  She will be very excited when she gets home from her trip to find this gem.
My 3rd book is Sublime Stitching Embroidered Effects by Jenny Hart.  I have not embroidered since the 1970's (I don't count Counted X-Stitch in this type of embroidery)  I love that this book offers different patterns like Fan Dancer, Sugar Skulls, Chandeliers and old school tattoo patterns to list just a few items from this book.
My 4th and final book is Doodle Stitching The Motif Collection by Aimee Ray.  I can already imagine the fun projects I am going to make using the ideas from this book.  Not only for myself but for family and friends.

Until Next Time,
Pam
