Sharing Some More Puppy Love

Olive has been with us for 6 days now.  She is such a joy.  She hasn't pottied in the house (we are very good about taking her out)  She comes running when she is called.  She plays hard and we have the bites to prove it.  She is very vocal when she wants our attention.

Last Day of the 30 Day Photo Challenge

I am a procrastinator and my long term goal is to get it under control

Creepy Crawlers

Not digging this one bit.  Went out into the garage and what do I find on the floor?

What's next a Rattle Snake!

Day 29: A photo of your favorite person from history [male & female]

Male favorite person is Abraham Lincoln.  I would love to hear him speak and the stories he could tell about that time in history would be so interesting.

Female favorite person is Princess Diana.  What a beautiful, charming, graceful, humanitarian woman she was.

Pam

Day 27: A photo of something you are looking forward to

My favorite time of the year is Fall.  We have now experienced all the seasons here except fall.  Growing up in California we didn't get a real fall with all the beautiful colors of the season.

I am looking forward to decorating the house and planning our first Thanksgiving in our new house.

Meet Our Newest Addition to Our Family

Olive
the
Bull Terrier

Anna and I drove to Mesa, AZ to pick Olive up on Saturday.  It didn't take Olive too long to become part of the family and get familar with the house and yard.  She is such a joy and our hearts are filled with love.

Get ready for a ton of puppy pictures.

Pam

Day 24: A photo of what you first wanted to be when you were growing up

This was easy I wanted to be a Mermaid.  In the Apartments we lived in when I was growing up we had a pool.  I would swim in the water with my legs crossed just like a Mermaid.

Day 23: A photo of something you want to do someday

I am 4 days behind in my photo challenge but for a very good reason.  As soon as I am up to date on the challenge I will post all about it.

I want to learn how to knit.  So far I have not been able to find any classes or anyone who teaches knitting where I live.  I am someone who needs visual aids I do not learn from books on my own.

Day 22: A photo of a habit you wish you didn’t have

From the day my daughter was born I came down with this habit which I am sure most mother's did too - WORRYING

I worry about everything.  Anna or Bill is one minute late coming home,  did I pay the car payment this month,  I think I lost something I just had 5 minutes ago, the road is too icy.  I am a pro at worrying if it was a career I would be a wealthy woman.

Day 21: A photo of a time in history you would like to experience

After visiting Gettysburg it would have to be the Civil War.  The smell of gun powder, the streams red with blood for days maybe weeks, brother fighting brother.  The presents of Abraham Lincoln so much history in a very dark time of the United States.

Day 20: A photo of what you think your spirit guide is

This morning I was thinking about my Spirit Guide and the first thing that came to mind was the Bear since bears are so protective of their cubs.

I went online and took a quiz to find my Spirit Guide and it said I am The Bear.  I then went to another site and took another quiz and you guessed it - I am The Bear.

Bears in general teach us to slow down and reserve our energies. Bear
medicine also has to do with awakening from within. Bear teaches us
that life’s answers are no further than your own subconscious. There is
no need to look outside of yourself when bear is nearby. Bears are also
climbers and can teach us to reach new heights. Bears love honey and
teach us to appreciate the sweetness life offers.
Bear is the embodiment of strength and is fierce to a threat on its lair.
It is not wise to come between the mother bear and her cubs, teaching
us ways to always protect those we love.
Bears are sensitive to Mother Nature’s cycles. They sleep long hours in
the winter living on fat stored in their bodies. It teaches us how to go
within and find the resources for survival and how to remain balanced
amid change. This medicine is a reminder of the great circle of life and
rebirth, renewal and fresh beginnings.
The stars above in infinite meadows of heaven show us the Great Bear in
the Sky, Ursa Major, as a sign of the greatness and infinity of bear wisdom.

Day 19: A photo of your favorite fashion era

I have 3 favorite era's 1940's, 1950's and 1960's.  I went with the 1940's everything about the 1940's was glamorous.  Hollywood had Actors and Actresses that were bigger than life.  They would never be seen out in public with jeans and t-shirt and their hair a mess.  The clothing was made nice, excellent fabric and I just love the style.

Day 18: A photo of your town

Just a short 7 months ago we retired to Cedar City, Utah from being native Southern Californians.

It is just stunning here and so many National Parks and Mountains around us.  We are still adjusting to a small town living, snow and "fitting in".

Day 17: A photo from a trip you'll never forget

In 2001 Kellogg's was giving away trips to Disney World and a 4 Day Disney Cruise to the Bahamas in a second chance drawing.  I started sending in entries from the time the sweep opened until it closed.  I put in approx 300 entries.  The day before Thanksgiving FedEx dropped off a Next Day envelope inside I found out I won the trip.  Since it was a Disney trip I let Anna take a friend with us and she chose her best friend to this day Jacqui.

We left in August 2002 I thought I knew humidity spending my summers in the midwest but boy Florida is the winner when it comes to humidity.  Nothing could put a damper on this vacation.  We stayed 3 days at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort and had access to all the parks.

The best part of the whole trip was the Cruise

We sailed on the Disney Wonder and stopped at a few ports but by far my favorite was Disney's private Island Castaway Cay.  The girls went on a Teen Cruise, Glass Bottom Boat (not the best choice) and swimming with the dolphins.  They both got their hair braided.  The ship was great, so was the food and the staff was wonderful.  We even got upgraded to a cabin with a veranda.  I shed a lot of tears on this trip.  I don't know if I could have gone on this cruise if it wasn't for Kellogg's.  Thank you Thank you!

Here are just a couple photos (all my photos are still packed away due to the move)

Pam

Day 16: A photo of something that reminds you of your childhood

Spending my summers in either Denison, IA or Rock Port, MO

Had a great time with my sisters, brothers and tons of cousins.  I learned to ride a bike, received my first Barbie doll, saw Love Story in the theatre,  played kick the can, caught fireflies, spent time at the lake, spent time on a farm.  These are just a few of the memories that I keep in my heart.

Until Next Time,
Pam

Day 15: A photo of you and a family

I am sad to say we do not have very many photos of the 3 of us together.  This is the best I could come up with and not a very good one at that.

Until Next Time,

Day 14: A photo of your ideal bedroom

Oh my gosh this was a hard challenge.  I didn't realize how picky I am when it comes to bedrooms.  I have looked at hundreds of photos and none of them was screaming Pam!

Then I came upon these two.  One shows my softer side the other my shows my bolder style.  The Ralph Lauren western style fits me best.  I know now that when I go to remodel my bedroom I will be pulling my hair out.

Day Trip to Zion National Park and Kolob

We had the best day yesterday.  Bill got his Lifetime Senior Pass to the National Parks. (hehehe)  The drive was beauitful.  We talked, joked and laughed.  Bill stopped everywhere I asked so I could snap some photos.  Here is just a handful of photos I took.  I hope you enjoy them.
