A Nice Drive and We Run Into Snow

Today Anna and I went into town to pick up our mail while Bill stayed home thinning out the pine trees and scrub oaks.  I wanted to go for a ride and take some photos so we ended up going up to Navajo Lake...well sort of.  From our house we are about 30 miles from the lake.  I pulled over at one of the scenic look outs of the lake and was shocked to find out there was still a lot of snow.  We couldn't even get down to the lake the road was closed.
Since Duck Creek Village was only three more miles we decided to go there and have lunch.  On the way to Duck Creek you pass these beautiful meadows.  Currently these meadows are full of snow and the stream running through it made it look like mini glaciers.
You can tell we are new to the area.  Here is Anna with a tank and flip flops
The road to Cedar Breaks was closed.  The news said they have one of the biggest snow falls this year.  They are trying to clear roads for the tourist season.
This was a first for me.  I have never seen a beaver up close and personal. (except for Jerry Mathers "The Beaver, lol)  This little guy came running across the dirt road up to this log cabin.
This deer must be feed by everyone she stopped and posed for us
It was pretty hazy but this is still a nice photo all the way in the distance you can see Zion National Park
I can't wait until the next time we go driving.

Until Next Time,
Pam
